After 17+ years in public accounting and in-house tax roles, I decided to open JDK CPA, a full service single member tax practice, in 2024.  Located in Houston, Texas, my goal is to serve clients both locally and nationwide.

I began my career at one of the largest locally owned Public Account Firms in Houston, worked a decade at a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), and have spent recent years working at one of the largest private employers and Family Offices in the state.  This breadth of experience pushed me to return to my passion within the tax world - helping businesses and people navigate their tax obligations and opportunities.

Outside of work, I’m a (possibly overly-emotional) sports fan, a decent recreational tennis player, and a movie buff.

My wife Randi and I share two wonderful kids, two very different cats, Gizmo and Nova, and one (mostly) lovable rescue dog, Casper.
